I agree with T. Sher Singh
('Tirade Against
3HO Unwarranted, Feb.20) to some extent. Whenever there are
personal issues involved ('Lapis,
Carnelian and Jade', Feb.18) then one can't stay objective.
I admire Kamalla's writing and wish her best of luck in recovering
from the personal grief during her stay at 3HO.
For the rest of us, running to judge others is against the basic
principal of Sikhi. This doesn't mean that calling a spade a spade
and exposing the dubious characters at any level of social or any
other hierarchy is unacceptable. But we daily pray "Remember
O' Khalsa the sacrifice of those who saw it but chose to ignore
it - "Dekh ke Undith Keeta" - and here some good
intentioned Sikhs seem to be jumping to conclusions without checking
the facts on their own and feeling glorified ("Undekhia
dith keeta").
I am no fan of Yogi Bhajan or any one else who deviates from the
clear-cut message of Sikhi, but I don't blame one person for the
wrong to an entire group of people. If this is so then who stopped
those intelligent individuals from investigating the core of Sikhi
on their own to contradict their leaders and leave before someone
comes and threatens as it is alleged. We are all at fault but blaming
others is a weaker instinct. May God provide the strength to all
and wish the best to all of humanity.
