GOD bless marriages everywhere,
help men and women love each other tenderly.
Guru Nanak taught that the Way for both men and women
is to be Soulbrides.
In this way Sikhs are all Sisters.
Guru Nanak wrote exquisite poetry
using the metaphor of marriage
to represent the Union of Self with GOD.
May all Soulbrides experience union within and without.
RAAG AASAA, FIRST MEHL, CHHANT, FIRST HOUSE:
ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:
O beautiful young bride, my Beloved GOD
is very playful. When the bride
enshrines love for her Husband GOD, He responds and loves her in
return.
The soul-bride meets her Husband GOD,
when the Divine showers blessings upon
her. Her bed is decorated for the company of her Beloved, and her
seven pools
are filled with ambrosial nectar.
Be kind and compassionate to me, O Kind
and True GOD, that I may obtain the
Word of the Shabad, and sing Your Praises. O Nanak, gazing upon
her Husband
GOD, the soul-bride is completely delighted, and her mind is filled
with joy.
