I am disappointed at your
selection of some of your articles.... If one of the reasons the
site (Sikhe.com) was established was to provide a source of inspiration
to Sikhs through out the world you are headed down the wrong path...
Publishing the articles (Sikhe.com, May 30, News
Headlines Today) about Nurinder Kaur in a bathing suit? Do you
think this is in line with Sikh practices???? Do you think she will
serve as a source of inspiration/role models to Sikh girls raised
in the west? Do you think wearing a bikini is in line with Sikh
beliefs??? If she is wearing a bikini I am willing to bet that she
shaves her legs and underarms. A large percent of Sikh girls in
Britain have a reputation of being promiscuous.... This type of
news is probably better suited for a gossip/trash newspaper....
On the same lines the picture of Paul Singh (Sikhe.com,
June 01).... well how nice.... a Sardar with a CHRISTIAN first
name...What an inspiration to all those Sikhs that have Sikh names
that are born and raised in the west that are told by whites how
they cannot pronounce their names... the solution: change your name
to one acceptable by the majority. When I was in England I actually
met a Keshdhari Sikh whose name was John.... His sir name was also
English.
Both of these articles, to be blunt, are not news.... you should
be a little more selective.... Did you know that the man who produced
the music video for REM's "Loosing my Religion" was Sikh!
Is this the type of inspiration we need? You need to show that Sikhs
of Guru Gobind Singh can over come obstacles and still succeed in
life without compromising our beliefs.
