In response to T. Sher Singh's
comments ('Tirade
Against 3HO Unwarranted', Feb.20) regarding Kamalla Rose's recent
article ('Lapis,
Carnelian and Jade', Feb.18) I would like to state that the
manner of expressing concern over Kamalla's use of her column is
similar to her method of using as a medium to convey her
personal issues with the 3HO organization. T. Sher Singh's utilization
of as a channel to possibly refute her attempt to unveil
certain undisputable truths regarding the 3HO organization headed
by the self-proclaimed Yogi Harbhajan Singh is similar to Kamalla's
pragmatic use of the column on .
Just as T. Sher Singh so passionately points out Kamalla Rose Kaur's
personal involvement in the issue which she is writing about, I
sense some personal involvement on his part in the attempt to balance
her arguments with some more favorable comments on 3HO.
I feel that Kamalla, as a writer posting her material on an
forum, has the right to communicate any issues that she feels the
community needs to be aware of. However, it is the responsibility
of the community to refute the allegations (with supporting evidence)
or accept these opinions.
I am a regular reader of both Kamalla's and T. Sher Singh's columns
on but I find T. Sher Singh's favorable comments on the
3HO organization quite disturbing. I would think that someone of
his stature and knowledge would be aware of the 3HO organization
and their blatant illegal activities, allegations of which have
been posted on several websites in the form of court documents and
signed affidavits*.
The fact is perhaps not so widely known amongst the Sikh community
that Yogi Harbhajan is in bed with the current, corrupt, Punjab
government and has never, in his history as a self-proclaimed Guru
(a concept against Sikhism), done anything meaningful for the Sikh
community. I applaud Kamalla's efforts to inform us of an organization
that may be linked with money laundering, drug dealing, and sexual
harassment of its female members.
I urge T. Sher Singh to put aside his personal relationship with
3HO and Yogi Harbhajan for a moment and investigate for himself
the truth behind 3HO. However, please understand that my objective
is not to condemn an entire community of primarily staunch Sikhs
who belong to the 3HO organization, but it is rather to highlight
what may be true about their leader and some of his possible immoral
activities which are perhaps supported by 3HO members some of whom,
though innocent, can be construed as guilty by association.
