USA: Due to the recent events, there will be a lot of ignorant people who might mistake you for a Muslim or Palestinian or some other stereotypical terrorist group. In most cases the people are very upset and will not hesitate before acting in violence. It is imperative that you do not provoke or even stand up to these people. Please have the common sense to walk away, and in some cases run away if necessary.

Just this morning, I was in a grocery store where one guy (started) threatening me, it is important that we stay around people and never allow ourselves to be victims of their ignorance. If the person seems rational/logical make an attempt to explain to them who we are and express your grief for all those that passed away. Do not take this lightly; there have already been multiple cases that I have heard of people being attacked.
